Put your mind at ease "Backflow
Prevention"
Clean, clear water! We all want safe water in our homes and on our properties.
One easy way to ensure that happens is to test your backflow devices regularly.
It is important that each home and business has the proper backflow device to
prevent the unlikely circumstance when water could possibly flow backwards into
the municipal water supply.
Our goal is to help educate customers on how they can reduce the risk of
contaminating our private and public water supplies. The main reasons to have
your backflow device inspected and tested annually are:
* Requirement of local water authority
* Protect the health and well being of the public water supply
* Protect your residence or business
To guarantee the best quality of water is delivered to you, backflow devices are
installed on properties that may have potential hazards, such as irrigation
systems or in-ground pools, and have a greater chance of contaminating the water
supply should the water flow suddenly reverse back into your home or business.
To help minimize backflow problems and make sure you have clean water, we listed
some quick easy tips:
1. Install a backflow device on your sprinkler system (if you do not already
have one)
2. Install a backflow device on your water supply to meet your water company
codes
3. Install hose bib vacuum breakers on all spigots
4. Never leave a hose in a bucket, pool or other containers of water
5. Have your device tested and inspected yearly to comply with your water
district regulations
