lowvoltagelandscapelighting

Installing a low voltage landscape lighting system is a complex project that needs to be carefully planned and executed. Our crew will be digging, trenching, boring, and installing your lights. But before anything actually happens on site, a lot happens off site with the design, layout, and the selection of materials.

Once the design and layouts are done and the materials are selected, we need to confirm that the site is ready. It is always wise to research what has taken place and what will take place on your property. A few questions to ask are:

• Is the site an existing landscape or is a landscape being created by another trade?
• If work is already in progress, will it slow down or hamper our installation?
• Is there a different project planned that might impact our installation?

Once the site is cleared for the installation and the design and placement of fixtures has been decided on, there is a careful step-by-step process that must be taken:

1. Determine the location of the transformer
2. Prep the fixtures by installing correct bulbs and lenses
3. Place the fixtures on the site as per the design
4. Determine the hub location
5. Pull home run wires
6. Make wire connections at satellite hubs and intelli-hubs
7. Mount transformers
8. Wire transformer
9. Check secondary voltage and amperage of the hubs
10. Check primary amperage
11. Check primary voltage
12. Mark as-built on transformer

Installation of all wires should be at 12” depth and in conduit when under walkways and driveways. The Rain Rich crew will employ pipe pulling equipment, trenchers, augers, and pneumatic missiles to ensure the proper depth and installation. Once installation is complete, fine tuning can be done with respect to location of lights, bulbs, and lenses used.
